Are you going through a difficult time? Stephen Ministers are members of our congregation who listen, care, encourage, and provide emotional and spiritual support to people who are facing a crisis or going through tough times. The care you will receive is confidential, free, and very helpful.
Stephen Ministry is a ministry of caring. Stephen Ministers are people in our congregation who are trained to listen and help others sort through their feelings. They are not counselors or therapists; rather, they are caring Christian listeners who can offer a listening ear to help others through the tough times in life.
The Stephen Series provides congregations with the structure, training, and resources to set up and administer a complete system for lay caring ministry (called Stephen Ministry) in the congregation. In Stephen Ministry congregations, lay caregivers (called Stephen Ministers) provide one-to-one Christian care to the bereaved, hospitalized, terminally ill, separated, divorced, unemployed, relocated, and others facing a crisis or life challenge. Stephen Ministry helps pastors and congregations provide quality caring ministry for as long as people need it.
Confidentiality is of utmost importance, so all Stephen Ministers are trained in this regard in order for care receivers to participate, they must feel that they can trust this lay-oriented system.
