Thank you so much for learning more about our active Nurture Ministry here at Calvary. Listed below (in alphabetical order) are some of the activities that this group is involved in.
Cancer Support Group
The Women's Cancer Support Group meets the 4th Wednesday of every month from 5:30 - 6:30 pm in the Chapel at Calvary. All women who have had or are currently living with cancer are invited to attend. Group size averages from four to ten women per month.
In supporting the group we laugh, cry, share test results and worries as we walk this journey with cancer and what it means to us, our faith, our family and friends. This group provides cancer markers, cancer studies, and laughter. There is also a time at the close of each meeting in which we have a relaxation, meditation, or "thoughts to ponder." And of course, there are many hugs!

Have you ever received a meal from a Calvary member after surgery, the birth of a baby, or after medical treatment? Or perhaps you've been the "deliverer" of one of those special meals? If you answered yes to either of these questions then you have been touched by a long-standing ministry here at Calvary that provides meals to families in need.
We use an internet site called Caring Meals to help families in need of meals during difficult times. It is as easy as a click of your mouse to help a family! To check out this website visit www.caringmeals.com and check out their demo. If you are interested in this program, please contact Dione Russell for more information!

Calvary has a homebound/residential visiting team that makes visits to a home or residential facility about once a month to a member who is unable to come to worship but still wishes to feel connected to our congregation. The goal of these visits is to talk and to listen, not worship (see Visiting Worship Teams if you are looking for a worship experience)

Throughout the year Nurture supports a number of social activities for the church that includes Christmas caroling, attending a Sky Sox baseball game, Trunk or Treat, Family Advent Night, etc.
Are you going through a difficult time? Stephen Ministers are members of our congregation who listen, care, encourage, and provide emotional and spiritual support to people who are facing a crisis or going through tough times. The care you'll receive is confidential, free, and very helpful.
Interested in becoming a Stephen Minister? Stephen Ministers are members of our congregation who receive special training to provide one-to-one Christian care to people in our congregation and community who are experiencing grief, loneliness, divorce, hospitalization, disability, job loss, and many other life difficulties.

Calvary Supper Club
Offered once a year and spread over an eight-month period, these fun and easy dinner parties are a great way to meet other Calvary people and enjoy some delicious food at the same time! Once you sign up, you are assigned to be a part of a group of eight or nine people, both couples and singles. These groupings vary with each two-month session so you get to know several people over the eight-month period. Your group meets four times, at a different member's home each time, and you bring a dish to share (or you may choose to go to a restaurant.)

Visiting Worship Teams
This ministry coordinates the monthly worship visits to some of Calvary's members who are unable to regularly attend our Sunday morning worship services either on a permanent or short-term basis. This group specifically shares music, prayer, worship and Holy Communion with these members of our immediate body of Christ. The visits are meant to supplement, not replace, other regular visits by friends or family.
No training, preparation, or experience is required, just an open heart! If you would like to learn more, contact either Debbie or Mike at 719-591-0963 or 719-591-0963 for more information.
