The UMW Purpose

The organized unit of United Methodist Women shall be a community of women whose purpose is:
    to know God and experience freedom as whole persons through Jesus Christ;
    to develop a creative, supportive community fellowship;
    to expand concepts of mission through participation in the global ministries of the church.

     Membership shall be open to any woman who indicates her desire to belong and to participate in the global missions of the church through United Methodist Women. Pledging of money is not required for membership.

United Methodist Women -UMW is a Global Organization.  The UMW unit at Calvary consists of Circles and several Interest Groups.  Check out the Calvary Calendar for meeting dates and times.



Small Groups

Elizabeth Circle  Service Projects include:
Mercy's Gate Food Pantry
UMCOR ( United Methodist Committee on Relief )
Ronald McDonald House
Sioux Indian Reservation in South Dakota
Ludhiana Christian Medical College & Hospital, Ludhiana, India
Crafts for the annual Craft Fair.  
Meets third Tuesday at 9:30 am in the Fireside Area at the church.  Contact is Jane Roberts - 574-3733

Naomi Circle  Service projects include:
Restoration bags for Human Trafficking Victims
UMCOR emergency kits
Meets the third Tuesday at 7:00 pm at the church and at member's homes.

Sarah Circle  Service project include:
Women Partnering
Children's Literacy Center at Calvary UMC

Helping Everyone Recover  (H.E.R.)
Meets at member's homes on 3rd Saturday at 9:30am

Crafty Ladies  Meets every Tuesday morning, (except the 3rd Tuesday) 9:30-12:00,
to work on craft projects for the annual UMW Craft Fair. Contact Ethylene Bosworth   719-277-7544

Jeanette & Friends Sewing Bee - 2nd & 4th Wednesday of the month
Various projects for the needs of the community.  
Examples of past projects include:
Quilts for survivors of the Waldo Canyon fire and Black Forest fire 
Christmas stocking for rescued victims of Human Trafficking

School Bag Workshop  Meets second Thursdays, 10:00-2:00, to work on making bags for UMCOR School Bags to hold the items collected by the church members in July and August.
